Morning Whispers | Growth

“…and regard the patience of our Lord as salvation; just as also our beloved brother Paul, according to the wisdom given him, wrote to you, as also in all his letters, speaking in them of these things, in which are some things hard to understand, which the untaught and unstable distort, as they do also the rest of the Scriptures, to their own destruction.  You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, be on your guard so that you are not carried away by the error of unprincipled men and fall from your own steadfastness, but grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To Him be the glory, both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.” 2 Peter 3:15-18

Everyone desires growth. Growth in our relationships. Growth in our businesses. Growth in our finances. It’s a wonderful thing. The process. The development. Especially as you see the seeds you’ve planted started to flourish and bloom. However, I was reminded this morning during my quiet time that these things can often compete with an area that is of utmost importance-growth in the grace and knowledge of our Saviour Christ.

In 2 Peter 3 we are reminded to be on guard against the things and people that can led us astray. As I read those words my heart ached as I realized how easy it is for me to find myself in a place I don’t want to be spiritually because I let my guard down.  I encourage you to to take a moment and reflect on ways you can fuel your growth in the things of God.  How can you make more time to saturate your minds in the truth found in His word, so that you may be anchored on a foundation that will always last. Praying for you friend.

Sent with love,

My NW SIgnature
