The Forgotten Gift
Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift! 2 Corinthians 9:15

Greetings my loves! I pray that you all had an amazing holiday and getting excited about the upcoming New Year. It’s always amazes me how fast this season comes and goes. I enjoyed seeing the photos and videos of the good times had by my friends on social media. As I was scrolling through my feed Christmas day, one post in particular made me chuckle. It wasn’t even 1pm and a friend shared that her kids were already saying they were bored. Obviously the excitement of unwrapping their toys and adrenaline of the morning had worn off. It made me think about other conversations I’ve had in the past with parents frustrated that the items their children just had to have would in a few months time end up, forgotten in a pile somewhere.
If we’re honest though, we too, like those children, may have at times let the awe and wonder that we have in the gift of Jesus fade after the holiday is gone. Whether intentionally or unintentionally. So while I’m sure some of us received some pretty nice tangible gifts, I was reminded through a message from my pastor that “…every good and perfect gift is from above.”(James 1:17.) And what greater gift is there than a personal relationship with Jesus. Sent from heaven to save us from spending an eternity in hell.
Jesus isn’t just the “reason for the season”. He is our reason for every moment.
So as the busyness of the holiday settles, will you join me in taking a little time to reflect on where you are?
- Have you put your relationship to the side, distracted by other things? Forgetting that He desires that you commune with Him day by day.
- Maybe the joy you once had in your relationship has dwindled because life is just not turning out the way you thought it would, and you need Him to renew your heart.
- Are you keeping the gift of Jesus to yourself or have you took time to share Him with others who need to encounter His forgiveness and love?
- Or perhaps you have yet to come into a personal relationship with Christ and you’re ready to surrender your life and accept this Gift given to us by God. (If this is you please click here. I would love to connect with you!)
Wherever you are, Christmas may be over but the gift of our Savior is something we should enjoy and share with others every day. So let’s do it! And trust me there will be no need for returns or exchanges!
Sending love your way! See you in 2018! <3
