The Unveiling — Root Cause Reflection

The Unveiling

For the women tired of surface-level faith.
Break Old Patterns. Live God’s Word Daily and be transformed.

A Root Cause Reflection Tool
A companion to your counseling journey, not a replacement for it. This tool is designed to support your personal reflection. It is not a substitute for professional pastoral counseling, therapy, or mental health care. If you are in crisis or need immediate support, please reach out to a trusted counselor or mental health professional.

You don’t have to have it together to be here.

If you almost didn’t open this page — that makes sense. Coming to this kind of honesty is not easy. Admitting that something is wrong, or that you need help, or that the same patterns keep showing up — that takes courage. You are not alone in that reluctance.

This is not a space where you need to perform, explain yourself, or have the right words. You only need one thing to begin: the willingness to be honest — even just a little.

Whatever brought you here today — God already knows. And He is not surprised, disappointed, or distant. He is exactly where He has always been. Waiting at the well.

“Come to me, all who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.” — Matthew 11:28

Why This Tool Exists

So much of our transformation journey stays stuck at the surface — and it is not because we are not trying. It is because we have not had a way to go beneath what we feel.

How you are feeling right now is not the whole story. It is an indicator — a signal pointing to something deeper. Shame, fear, overwhelm, grief — these are not the root. They are the fruit of roots that have often been growing quietly for years, shaped by old beliefs, unhealed wounds, past patterns, and the stories we were handed before we even knew we were carrying them.

The problem is that most of us identify the feeling and stop there. We pray about it, push through it, or try to manage it — without ever asking what is underneath it. And so the same patterns keep returning, the same cycles repeat, and real transformation feels just out of reach.

The Unveiling is an invitation to go further. To follow the feeling down to its root — and meet God there. Because that is where the healing actually happens.

Step 1 — Name what you’re carrying

Choose the word that feels closest to true right now.

You don’t have to explain anything yet. Just find the word that fits.

Is this the word that feels true — or the one that feels safest to admit? Both are okay. But if there is a truer one underneath it, give yourself permission to choose that one instead.

Step 2 — Go to The Well

The Well

The woman at the well came thirsty. She left transformed.

This is your invitation to go deeper than the surface of what you are feeling — and meet God there. One honest question at a time.

1
Why does this feeling exist right now — what is it connected to?
2
And why does that carry so much weight for you?
3
Why has that been so hard to release or move past?
4
Why do you think you have believed that about yourself — or your situation?
5
And at the very bottom — why does that belief feel true?
Looking at what emerged through those questions — what do you sense is at the true root of this? Name it as clearly as you can.

Next: explore how this root shows up across six areas of your life.

Step 3 — Map the root across your life

Now explore how this root shows up across each area of your life. Let what you discovered in The Well inform each response.

Root Insight
After The Well and mapping each branch — what is God surfacing? What old pattern is He inviting you to release?

What you just did took courage.

God saw every word you wrote — and He was present for all of it.

“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion.”

— Philippians 1:6

What surfaced today is not the end of the conversation — it is the beginning of a deeper one. If you would like to go further with what you discovered, I would be honored to walk alongside you.
